Corneliu Florea was born in 1980 in Bucharest. He got his master degree from University "Politehnica" of Bucharest, Romania in 2004 and the Ph.D. from the same university in 2009. 

Following his graduation he activated as teaching assistant, assistant professor, lecturer, associate professor and full professor in the same university, in the Image Processing and Analysis Laboratory from EAII department . He's got his habilitation in 2016.  He teaches courses on statistical signal processing, machine learning and computer vision.

In parallel, he had a stint with digital still camera software industry, where he activated for 14 years. In this period he co-authored more than 25 US Patents.

He is researcher leader inthe LAPI group and investigates machine learning and computer vision themes. He authored  more than 75 peer-reviewed papers including into top journal and conferences. He was receiver in 2018 of Anis (Romanian Association of IT Industry) grant on Machine Learning.
